The Night Festival 2012 takes place this 24th – 25th Aug and 31st – 1st Sept right at the heart of Bras Basah and Bugis, Singapore’s arts and heritage district. This is where most of our popular musuems – Singapore Arts’ Museum, Peranakan Museum etc are located!!
The events will go around from the Singapore Management University, Singapore National Museum, Peranakan Museum, The Substation and more! That’s a 15 minute walking distance from the hostel! So what are you waiting forrrrr??
This 4-nights only festival involve many acts, roaming artiste, and extraordinary light shows/installations that you definitely cannot miss!!!! Don’t know what to do? We list down the top 5 Must-Dos at the Night Festival!!!!
1. Watch Argentine Dancers dance inches above you.
One of the highlights of this year’s festival would be the Fuerzabruta which will feature 3 spectacular dance – Mylar, Corredoras, La Argetina. Carefully choreographed, these 3 dances, together with the special visual effects will leave you mind-blown.
2. Night Lights
The outdoor showcase of light installations are back again! Be sure to feast of the selected array of of artworks at the Singapore National Museum, Singapore Arts’ Museum (SAM), SAM at HQ and School of the Arts! Check Out the photos below – aren’t they amazing? 🙂
3. Grow in the Dark
Grow the enchanting “Garden by planting more origami flowers! Check back this weekend to see more flowers pop out!! 🙂
4. Reactive Wall
Can you recognise the images of popular characters and icon on the screen? Whisper, whistle, talk or clap into the microphone to see what happens!
We don’t know yet, but we’re definitely gonna try this Friday! 😀
5. Circus Swingapore
You must have visited many circuses in your life, but a circus IN a museum? Yes, Circus Swingapore is performing at the Night Festival IN the National Museum of Singapore. Circus Swingapore is Singapore’s only School of Circus Arts with students ranging from 7 to 50 years old! WOW!!
6. Night Festival @ Switch
End of the night at Switch. Grab a beer and enjoy the night with Indie Singaporean Chinese bands ah5ive, Elyzia and Redpoll while they sing you some of your favourite Xinyao classics with fresh and exciting arrangements!!
